Breakfast At Tiffany's

Points for the most cliched blog title go to...

Before you judge me, please know that I couldn't resist.

I had gone to the Tiffany's on Fifth Avenue to see just how expensive replacing my lost necklace would be (unsurprisingly too expensive) and found myself asking my beautiful friend to take a photograph of me outside. Hilariously she happens to be called Tiffany, and encouraged me in my Audrey Hepburn-esque pursuits with enthusiasm.

Despite audaciously calling New York home, I am still very much a tourist that gasps with delight upon seeing the Empire State Building or Central Park. We walked five miles from our little NYU home to the Met and that gave me ample opportunity to see the cliched sites. Like any good Gossip Girl fan I got my (sadly blurry) photo on the steps, before perusing my favourite places inside.

I don't know why but the first place I go to every time I visit is the Ancient Egyptian section, for the gorgeous atrium that holds a temple bathed in light from wall to ceiling windows. Outside Central Park's leafy trees flutter in the wind, whilst inside history stands proudly. It's a must see, in my opinion, and I urge to pay a visit if you ever find yourself in the Big Apple. They let you take photos inside, and the only reason I don't include one here is because I was so enthralled that I completely forgot about my camera. Sorry guys, but maybe my description will entice you into visiting...

The Met itself is incredible generally, and bonus points: they let you pay what you can afford. This is wonderful for poor students like Tiff and I, as we guiltily handed over $3 whilst silently promising to pay more when we are graduates and (hopefully) a little better off.

After a tumultuous first half of 2016, this summer is becoming just what I needed. Museums, my friends, and that New York magic: what more could a girl want?
