An Anticipated Silence...

Hello stranger.

I feel like I haven't been blogging much of late. I've been mostly relying on old photos, although thankfully I have those in abundance, and posts which have sat idle in my drafts for a while. I apologise, you deserve better as a faithful reader but I am struggling a little in this new country. It shouldn't be new - I have been here for nearly two months after all. But things are harder here, I'm tired more easily and just the day to day living requires more energy. I don't think that is reflective of Ghana per se but rather the weariness with which I am approaching embracing a new culture. I am enjoying it, but enjoying it just requires more effort somehow.

However I am thrilled to say that there will be a silence on this blog for a while, for very good reasons. I am going on safari!

This is exciting for me, naturally, as I will be adventuring across Zambia, Bostwana and Namibia with my father and brother. I will sit in the devil pool atop of Victoria Falls, I will be camping in the middle of the Kalahari desert, I will be seeing all manner of wonderful animals, and I will be filming and photographing everything. Thus I hope to bring fresh content to you all, finally.

I have been thinking so much recently about so many complicated things, that is why I'm here after all. Learning, and approaching things from a wholly different perspective is the name of the study abroad game. But for ten days I will just be doing, and I can't tell you how much I need the break.

So forgive me for my absence, I hope you will come back when I do. I promise that I am working on my photography skills and maybe, just maybe, there will be some photographs of giraffes with a dreamily blurred background. Well a girl can dream.
